Oblivion by @Kelly_Creagh Review

Oblivion (Nevermore, #3)
Release date: July 28, 2015
Publisher: Atheneum Books for Young Readers
Genre: YA Gothic/Romance
Series: Nevermore #3

This electrifying conclusion to the Nevermore trilogy takes one last trip to the dream world of Edgar Allan Poe to reveal the intertwined fates of Isobel and Varen.

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins? —Edgar Allan Poe

The fine line between life and death blurred long ago for Isobel Lanley. After a deadly confrontation with Varen in the dreamworld, she’s terrified to return to that desolate and dangerous place. But when her nightmares resume, bleeding into reality, she is left with no choice. Varen’s darkness is catching up to her. To everything. Threatening to devour it all.

Isobel fears for her world. For her sanity and Varen’s—especially after a fresh and devastating loss. To make matters worse, the ghostly demon Lilith wants Varen for her own, and she will do anything to keep him in her grasp—anything.

Can Isobel ever find her happy ending? Worlds collide and fates are sealed in this breathtaking finale to the Nevermore trilogy.

My Rating: 5 Roses

Deliciously dark, wonderfully thrilling, and an ultimately satisfying conclusion to the Nevermore trilogy, Oblivion was a fantastic read. I really liked this dark book, complete with its twists, secrets, and final showdown with Lilith. All of it was excellent.

The Highlander Takes a Bride by @LynsaySands Review @avonbooks

The Highlander Takes a Bride
Release date: July 28, 2015
Publisher: Avon Books
Genre: Historical (Highlander) Romance

A bold, seductive laird meets his passionate match in a scintillating Highland romance from New York Timesbestselling author Lynsay Sands...

Sword fighting, swearing, and riding astride come naturally to Saidh Buchanan. Simpering and holding her tongue—definitely not. Raised alongside seven boisterous brothers, Saidh has little interest in saddling herself with a husband... until she glimpses the new Laird MacDonnell bathing naked in the loch. Though she's far from a proper lady, the brawny Highlander makes Saidh feel every inch a woman.

She has an angel's looks, a warrior's temper, and seeks out his kisses with wanton eagerness. Little wonder that Greer is intrigued by his comely guest. When reckless desire overtakes them, he's more than willing to make an honest woman of her. But Saidh is the target of a hidden enemy, and Greer faces the battle of his life to safeguard the woman he wants above all others.

My Rating: 4 Roses

A romantic and truly delightful historical romance, The Highlander Takes a Bride was a lovely read. With sweet romance and a surprising betrayal, this book was great and I really liked it.

Farewell, My Friends

To my dearest followers,

Some of you might have noticed by now that things have been slowing down at Imagine a World. Less post have been going up and less of those have been reviews. Why? I'm simply too busy to be able to focus on reviewing and it's only gotten worse now that I'm beginning the process of moving.

So, I will be leaving Imagine a World. While it makes me sad to leave the blog that I've been on for three years, I've thought a lot about it and came to the conclusion that I can't devote as much time as would be needed to keep running Imagine a World. And that time would be better served getting the copious amount of work I've been getting done. I'll be posting a few more things for tours that I have already scheduled and I'll be hanging around the reviewing world but I'll be on the sidelines instead.

As a side note, should anyone like to take over running Imagine a World, feel free to contact me at farrahsayyed@gmail.com. I'm very fond of this blog and I would love to see it continue to run even after I leave it. Whoever takes over running Imagine a World would also be able to use the Netgalley and Edelweiss accounts associated with it. If anyone's interested, let me know.

To my followers, thank you for sticking with me. I'm sad to go but I think it's the right decision for me. Best wishes to you all :)

Nixy Bauer is used to her classmates being very, very unhappy to see her. After all, she’s a bounty hunter in a virtual reality gaming world. Kids in the MEEP, as they call it, play entirely with their minds, while their bodies languish in a sleeplike state on the couch. Irritated parents, looking to wrench their kids back to reality, hire Nixy to jump into the game and retrieve them.

But when the game’s billionaire developer loses track of his own son in the MEEP, Nixy is in for the biggest challenge of her bounty-hunting career. In a World Just Right by Jen Brooks Review @simonteen @jenbrookswriter

In a World Just Right
Release date: April 28, 2015
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Genre: YA Sci-Fi/Romance

Imagination takes on new meaning for a uniquely talented teen in this debut novel that is a breathtaking blend of contemporary, fantasy, and romance.

Sometimes Jonathan Aubrey wishes he could just disappear. And as luck—or fate—would have it, he can. Ever since coming out of a coma as a kid, he has been able to create alternate worlds. Worlds where he is a superhero, or a ladies’ man, or simply a better version of himself. That’s the world he’s been escaping to most since sophomore year, a world where he has everything he doesn’t have in real life: friends, a place of honor on the track team, passing grades, and most importantly, Kylie Simms as his girlfriend.

But when Jonathan confuses his worlds senior year and tries to kiss the real Kylie Simms, everything unravels. The real Kylie actually notices Jonathan…and begins obsessing over him. The fantasy version of Kylie struggles to love Jonathan as she was created to do, and the consequences are disastrous. As his worlds collide, Jonathan must confront the truth of his power and figure out where he actually belongs—before he loses both Kylies forever.

My Rating: 4 Roses

An interesting concept that turned out to be a great story, In a World Just Right was a fantastic YA read. With the cool world-builder element and a romance that went across worlds, this book was definitely wonderful and I really liked it.
