The Sweet Surrender of Janet Buchanan by Paula Quinn

The Sweet Surrender of Janet Buchanan (The MacGregors: Highland Heirs, #1.5)
Release date: October 7, 2014
Publisher: Forever
Genre: Historical (Highlander) Romance
Series: The MacGregors: Highland Heirs #1.5

Janet Buchanan is no man's property. She refuses to marry her family's sworn enemy-consequences be damned. She'd rather take a dagger to the brute herself. Yet when a tantalizing-and infuriating-man from her past comes to her rescue, Janet finds herself undeniably tempted by his hot, hungry kiss.

Notorious for his prowess as a lover and a fighter, Darach Grant has only one goal in mind: to defend his kin's land from the impending siege of a hostile clan. The last thing he needs is the delicious distraction of Janet Buchanan-the only woman who can stir his ire as deeply as she warms his blood. But Janet's intended will stop at nothing to claim her, forcing Darach to choose between surrendering his honor . . . or his heart.

My Rating: 4 Roses

A sweet little historical romance, The Sweet Surrender of Janet Buchanan was a lovely read and I really enjoyed it.

Janet was a strong-willed heroine. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with and the perfect match for a brash highlander. Sometimes her sharp tongue would cross the line to shrewish but, for the most part, she was a great character.

Darach was great, also. He didn't want to admit that he had fallen in love but, once he was forced to face his feelings, he would have done anything to protect Janet. He was a sweet, likable hero.

The romance was great. There was an already established relationship between the two and, upon reuniting, all those feelings came back and grew. They were a sweet couple, and there was definitely some spice in there was well.

The plot moved quickly and I was kept interested the entire way through. The story was sweet and enjoyable and the ending was lovely.

The Sweet Surrender of Janet Buchanan was an enjoyable historical romance. Sweet and romantic, it was a lovely read. Romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out.
