Release date: October 21, 2014
Publisher: Random House: Flirt
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Good girls stay away from Ryder Briggs . . . or, at least, they try to. In Renita Pizzitola’s emotional novel of heartache and seduction, one college freshman just can’t get enough.

Brinley Dawson doesn’t drink, she studies—and despite the accusations of her alcoholic mother, she’s still a virgin. But if Brinley’s life is so put together, why is she freaking out to be going to college with the gorgeous, green-eyed jerk she kissed on a stupid dare in high school? Ryder Briggs can have any girl he wants . . . and the rumors say that he does. So why, after publicly embarrassing Brinley four years ago, is he suddenly acting like he’s interested?

Ryder never forgot Brinley. In fact, those perfect seven minutes permanently raised the bar for what a kiss could be. The truth is, Ryder doesn’t dare get too close to anyone. He knows how that worked out for his parents. But when his roommate takes a shot at Brinley, Ryder can’t contain his jealousy. Now he must do the hardest thing he’s ever done: forget about sex and convince Brinley his feelings are real.

Brinley isn’t sure whether she believes Ryder, but for the first time, her body isn’t playing by the rules. Then she discovers that she’s an unwilling part of a cruel game, humiliating her all over again—and Ryder might be to blame. Has Brinley’s little crush turned into a huge mistake . . . or has she found the one guy worth trusting with her heart?

My Rating: 4 Roses

An enjoyable New Adult romance that I really enjoyed, Just a Little Crush was a lovely read. It was sweet, emotional, and I liked it.

Brinley was a great heroine. I really liked that she was firm in what she wanted and didn't give in to what other people tried to make her. In general, she gave others a chance before judging. She was a lovely heroine and I liked her.

Ryder was just adorable. He had a bad reputation, but he was really a sweetie. I loved how he was so determined to do what was best for Brinely, even if that meant staying away from her. He was great and I really liked him.

The romance was very sweet. Brinley and Ryder had liked each other for a while but never got to act on their feelings. And they definitely had some heat between them. I thought they were great together.

My one issue with the book was something that happened near the end. When Brinley found out about the game, she was understandably angry. What annoyed me, though, was that she didn't give him a chance to explain. Then, when she found out the full truth, she didn't bother to try to fix anything. She just moped around until Ryder made the first step. It was annoying and brought down the book a notch.

The plot was fast paced and I was kept interested the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was great.

Just a Little Crush was a lovely New Adult romance that I really liked. Romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out.
