Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer . . . in adelicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.

Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.

My Rating: 4 Roses

Hot, sweet, and lovely, Against the Cage was a wonderful romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. From the romance, to the secrets, it was a lovely read.

Chrissy was a good heroine. She was strong and stood up for what she believed in. I had two issues with her. 1) She could be rather judgmental and self-righteous, which was annoying. 2) She had a tendency to be a drama queen in a way that was irritating and she had habit of running away. That led to more problems than were necessary. So, I didn't really liked her, but, overall, I was okay with her.

Jack was wonderful. He was sweet and loyal to those he cared about. He was determined to protect Chrissy, though he went about it in the wrong way. I thought he was adorable and I really liked him.

The romance was lovely. There was some serious chemistry going on between them that got super hot. Definitely enough steaminess to go around. And, they were also sweet together. They had a long past and that allowed a depth of emotion that was rather lovely. I thought they were great together.

The plot was okay. I wasn't totally hooked, but I was kept interested the entire way through. There were some secrets and surprises along the way that kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely, tying up the romance, while leading in to the next book. I'm definitely curious about book 2. Can't wait to read it!

Against the Cage was a wonderful romance. The romance was hot and sweet, the secrets took me by surprise, and the story was truly enjoyable. Romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out.
