Desire and loyalty collide in the riveting conclusion to USA TODAY bestselling author Kasey Michaels's series about the Redgraves—four siblings united by their legacy of scandal and seduction...

Punished for his father's crimes and scorned by society, fearless soldier Maximillien Redgrave fights to protect England. But his quest to restore his family's reputation is his own private battle. Trusting the irresistible young Zoe Charbonneau, whose betrayal destroyed his closest comrades and nearly unraveled his covert mission, is a mistake he intends to never repeat. So when the discovery of a smuggling ring compels him to embark on a voyage straight into danger, he's prepared for anything—except to find Zoe on his ship.

Believed to be a double agent for England and France, Zoe must clear her name in order to save her life. Convincing Max of her innocence seems impossible, until inescapable desire tempts them both to trust—and love—again. But a circle of enemies is closing in, and their time together might run out before they outrun danger...

My Rating: 4 Roses

A lovely conclusion to the Redgraves series, What a Hero Dares was a wonderful romance. I really enjoyed reading this book, especially since I finally got to find out who the culprit behind the Society was. It was thrilling, romantic, and a great read.

Zoe was a good heroine. She was a force to be reckoned with, both very clever and strong. I really liked her. I thought she was a lovely character.

Max was also great. He was very sweet, and very loyal to those he cared about. Like Zoe, you definitely wouldn't want to get on his bad side, because he had both brawn and the brains to back it. I really liked him, as well.

The romance was great. The chemistry between these two was hot. There were sparks constantly flying between this couple. And, they were also very sweet together. Even though they were both reluctant to admit to them, their feelings for each other were always clear. With both of them being so clever and strong-willed, they definitely met their match in each other.

The plot was okay. I wasn't totally hooked. There were some parts where things just started to drag and I started to skim. But, for the most part, I was kept interested. There were secrets and surprises along the way, along with a reveal of the mastermind behind the Society. I definitely didn't suspect who it turned out to be. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was a perfect conclusion to both the book and the series.

What a Hero Dares was a lovely historical romance. I really liked this book, from the mystery, to the romance, to how it concluded the wonderful Redgraves series. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out.
