Click on the banner for the full schedule.
Welcome to my post for the Third Degree book tour! I have a review of this lovely book coming up, as well as a giveaway for a $25 gift card and a Flirt tote and mug. But, first, allow me to introduce the book:

Third Degree
Release date: March 25, 2014
Publisher: Random House: Flirt
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Fans of Monica Murphy and Tammara Webber will savor this New Adult novel—a story about coming of age in the heat of the moment—from Julie Cross, the internationally bestselling author of the Tempest trilogy.

I used to be “Isabel Jenkins, child prodigy.” As lame as that sounds, at least it was an identity. But now I’m not sure what I am. I just failed the most important exam of my life—the emotional readiness test required to get into a medical residency program—and it turns out my parents can’t stand each other. Now I’m trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces of my life, and that means re-enrolling as a college freshman, but this time I’m shutting the books and majoring in being eighteen.

But so far, my roommate hates me and I’m not into the party scene. The only good thing about school has been getting to know my insanely hot RA. Marshall Collins makes me wonder about everything I missed while I was growing up too fast. Pretty soon we’re hanging out constantly, but for the first time, I find myself wanting more than a no-strings-attached physical relationship. And the lesson I really need is one Marsh definitely can’t teach me: love. Because I’m going to be alone forever if I don’t learn fast.

Advance praise for Third Degree

“With quirky characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a touching romance, Third Degree is a refreshing entry in the New Adult genre. I can’t wait to read what Julie Cross comes up with next!”—Roni Loren, bestselling author of Need You Tonight

“I fell for quirky, brainy, socially awkward child prodigy Izzy and even more so for her sweet, compassionate, and hot RA, Marshall. I was rooting for their happily-ever-after and was sighing with satisfaction by the end.”—Christina Lee, author of the Between Breaths series

“Loved! Fans of Huntley Fitzpatrick’s My Life Next Door and Tammara Webber’s Easy will fall hard for this book.”—Krista Ritchie, co-author of the Addicted to You series

My Rating: 5 Roses

An emotional, heart-breaking, surprising romance, Third Degree was a lovely read. I really liked this book. It was deep, romantic, and very enjoyable. This book was just fantastic.

Isabel came off as cold and a bit unfeeling. And, that came up as a recurring problem with her. But, over the course of the book, she grew and learned to let emotions in. And, I understood why she acted the way she did, so it didn't bother me too much. I really liked her. She was, of course, crazy smart, but also strong and determined. There were a lot of revelations about her character that took me by surprise and made her disconnectedness more understandable. Overall, I really liked her character.

Marshall was amazing. This guy was so sweet and wonderful and absolutely adorable. He was just a genuinely nice person and that's what made him so great. Like Isabel, he had secrets that took me by surprise. He was brilliant and I totally adored him.

The romance was lovely. Isabel and Marshall were so sweet together. I loved how they understood each other so well and were such a perfect match. And the chemistry between them was sizzling from the moment they met. There was definitely some spice in there with these two. I thought they were a wonderful couple.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way though. All the secrets about the characters kept me guessing. I really enjoyed the story and I thought the ending was perfect.

Third Degree was a wonderful New Adult romance. I absolutely loved this book. It was emotional, romantic, heartbreaking, and a truly enjoyable read. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out.
