Release date: January 7, 2014
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Series: Salt #1

Penelope is a witch, part of a secret society protecting humans from demon attacks. But when she was a child, a demon killed her parents—and stole her magic. Since then, she’s been pretending to be something she’s not, using her sister’s magic to hide her own loss, to prevent being sent away.

When she’s finally given the chance to join the elite demon-hunting force, Penelope thinks that will finally change. With her sister’s help, she can squeeze through the tests and get access to the information she needs to find "her" demon. To take back what was stolen.

Then she meets Carter. He’s cute, smart, and she can borrow his magic, too. He knows her secret—but he also has one of his own.

Suddenly, Penelope’s impossible quest becomes far more complicated. Because Carter’s not telling her everything, and it’s starting to seem like the demons have their own agenda…and they’re far too interested in her.

My Rating: 4 Roses

A lovely YA paranormal romance, Salt was a fantastic book. I really enjoyed reading it. From the magic, to the secrets, it was a wonderful read.

Penelope was a good heroine. She was strong and extremely determined. Nothing was going to stop her from getting her magic back. I liked her. I thought she was great.

Carter was also wonderful. This boy was so sweet and I totally adored him. He was very charming and he sure knew how to woo a girl. I thought he was perfect.

The romance was lovely. Penelope and Carter were great together. They were perfectly matched in their personality and their power. And the chemistry between them was there from the moment they met. I thought they were great together.

The plot was good. I was kept interested, but I wasn't totally hooked. And, I would have liked to have seen more explanation about all the magic. There were a few times when I was a bit lost. But, I still enjoyed the story and the ending has me curious to see what happens next.

Salt was a wonderful YA paranormal romance. I really enjoyed reading this fantastic book. YA romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out.

Quotes:
"I see you, Pen," he says, his hands holding firm to my cheeks. "You're the sun and the moon and the stars-impossible to miss."-Carter
