Click on the banner for the full schedule.
Welcome to my post for the Soul Oath book tour! I have a review coming up, as well as a giveaway for a $25 gift card and copies of Destiny Gift and Soul Oath. But, before we get to all that, allow me to introduce the book:

Soul Oath (Everlast, #2)
Release date: November 25 2013
Publisher: Self
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Series: Everlast #2

It’s been three months since Nadine last heard from Victor, Micah or Ceris, allowing her to concentrate on her own life. But until Victor and Micah find the scepters that will restore them as true gods, their human bodies will require her healing touch and it’s only a matter of time until they wreak havoc on her life again.

As if to prove that, Victor shows up at the hospital dragging along with him a swarm of demons. Nadine is forced to flee to safety. Despite her attempts to keep her loved ones protected, the demons find her, and they bring her to Imha, the goddess of Chaos.

Now, confronted by her greatest fear, Nadine finds a new motivation. Vengeance. And when seeking revenge, no risk is too great, including her own life.

My Rating: 4 Roses

A lovely sequel that was even better than the first book, Soul Oath was a fantastic read. In this book, the stakes were higher, the romance was deeper, the characters were stronger. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Nadine was much better in this book. In book 1, my main problem was that Nadine needed to be fiercer, needed to fight more, rather than be passive and run or hide. At first, that problem remained. But, as the book went on, Nadine found her strength and began to fight for what she wanted. She proved herself as a heroine and I ended up really liking her.

Victor's role was more minor in this book. He was still sweet and adorable, but his role was taken over by Micah.

Micah was amazing. He was so sweet and still delightfully charming. At the end of book 1, I was a bit confused as to where to place him on the "good/bad" scale. But, in this book, we see that he's fiercely loyal to the people he cares about and willing to do anything for them, even if it wasn't strictly "good." I completely adored him in this book and I can't wait to read the upcoming novella that's in his POV.

The romance became a stronger element in this book, though the conflict between the gods still took greater focus. The author still took the time to develop the romance in a way that was realistic and made the emotions really deep. Who was the romance between? Well, I don't want to spoil the love triangle for you, so I'll let you figure that out. But I thought these two were lovely together.

The plot good. It was a little slow at first. But, about halfway through, a lot of things happened that kick started the plot and, from then on, I was hooked. There were tons of surprises in store that I never saw coming, deaths that made me tear up, and thrills that kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the story and the ending tied a few things up while leaving others open for the next book. I can't wait to see how things end in this trilogy. And I'm definitely excited for the upcoming novella :)

Soul Oath was a wonderful New Adult paranormal romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. There were surprises, thrills, romance, and an ending that has me itching for more. Fans of book 1 will not be disappointed by this lovely sequel. And NA lovers, if you want a great paranormal read, then this is a series you definitely need to check out.

*I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review

Previous book in the series:

Destiny Gift (Everlast, #1)
Destiny Gift (Everlast #1)

Thirty years in the future, a sinister New York City exists in permanent darkness.

A student at the secured NYU, nineteen-year-old Nadine has visions of Victor Gianni, an imaginary guy she has real feelings for. Afraid of being truly insane, she explains the visions away as simple daydreams, but she can no longer deny them when she bumps into Victor in real life. But this Victor doesn’t know her, and turns her away. After the encounter, Nadine’s visions change to those of eerie fates, gods she’s never heard of, demons with sharp claws they are not too timid to use … and instructions.

To discover if she’s losing her mind, Nadine follows the vague directions—with the real, rude and reluctant Victor—leading to a man who knows it all: Nadine can restore an ancient creed by unveiling the clues on her visions, and bring sunlight and peace to the world again. But that’s only if the demons and the other evil forces behind the darkness don’t stop her first.

  1. Great review! I'm always surprised when a sequel is better - or even just as good as - the first. I find lately they just don't match our expectations. It sounds like this one really has a lot of growth with both the characters and the romance. I also love that there's starting to be more genres in NA than contemporary! :)

  2. Yes, thankfully this book avoided the second book syndrome and turned out to be fabulous. And, I agree, it's great that we're venturing beyond contemporary in New Adult romance :)

  7. I have read a few, but I could not tell you the names due to a memory problem. If I see or hear the book or author, I will know it, but not if I try to remember it. Sorry! This book sound awesome, though! Thank you for the giveaway.
