He’s waited more than 900 years to love her…

Being the Gatekeeper to Hades is no small feat, and waiting almost a millennia to meet your mate is damn near impossible. But Theo Bradford’s mark has finally surfaced on his intended. Now all he has to do is find her and convince her to embrace her supernatural heritage.

Young genius, Sadie Nowland, has got life figured out. Graduating college at the age of eighteen and accepting a six-figure job is just what she needs to prove she’s made something of herself. But when a strange tattoo mysteriously appears on her shoulder and Theo starts talking about Mates, it catapults her neatly laid out life into chaos.

Somehow a vicious demon banished to Hades defies Theo’s vanquish and returns, setting his target on Sadie, and she is thrust into the volatile world of Shomrei warriors and a connection to Theo her brain can’t comprehend and her body can’t deny. That primal bond proves more imperative to their survival than either could have ever imagined—and just may be the key to the world’s survival.

My Rating: 3 Roses

Dark and romantic, Forged by Fate was a wonderful New Adult paranormal romance. I enjoyed reading this book and I'm curious to see what's coming up in the series.

Sadie was a great heroine. She was really strong and determined to take care of herself. And, when her reality was turned upside down, she toughed it out and proved herself. Her stubbornness about accepting help from others was a bit frustrating. But, for the most part, I liked her.

Theo was a sweetie. I thought it was so adorable that he waited to long to meet his mate and saved himself for the woman he was destined for. And, he was so completely devoted to Sadie and intensely loyal to his loved ones. I thought he was adorable.

The romance was sweet. Sadie and Theo were adorable together. Their feelings for each other were always clear and deep. There were certainly sparks between them, but not too much. They were lovely together.

My problem with this book, though, was that there was too much going on. Too many things happening at once, too many different mythologies in one place. It was a little too fantastical, with all the coincidences, because, with everything going on at once, there wasn't much explanation. I still enjoyed this book, but this issue kept me from loving it.

The plot was good. I was kept interested the entire way through, though I wasn't totally hooked. I enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. It seemed like everything was tied up at the end, so I'm curious to see what the author has planned.

Forged by Fate was a lovely New Adult read. I really enjoyed reading it. Lovers of NA romance, if you want something with some magic, then you might want to check this book out.

*I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
