Before We Fall by Courtney Cole

Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken, #3)
Release date: December 3, 2013
Publisher: Forever
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Series: Beautifully Broken #3

Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black...

For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He's a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn't care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.

23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it's an absence of moments. She's like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other... to fill the void that her father left in her.

Until she meets Dominic.

After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.

Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated... they've learned a priceless lesson.

Sometimes, before we fall... we fly.

My Rating: 4.5 Roses

Sweet, steamy, and deeply emotional, Before We Fall was a lovely New Adult romance. Fans of this fantastic series, you will not be disappointed by this addition because it was wonderful.

Jacey was a heroine who meant well, but always seemed to get herself into bad situations. However, she was doing her best to get herself together. Then she met the ultimate of bad boys and those plans went awry. I really liked Jacey. She wasn't going to take crap from anyone, even if it was a famous actor. And, she grew up into a stronger person over the course of the book, beginning the first steps to getting her life together. I thought she was great.

Dominic was also wonderful. He had one hell of a haunted past that became even darker with a secret that was revealed during the book. After learning what all of those demons really were, I couldn't blame him for falling off the deep end. But, beneath all that delicious bad boy, he really was a good guy, though he would never admit it. He was sweet and I thought he was adorable. In a hot bad boy way, of course :)

The romance was hot. Jacey and Dominic definitely had some intense chemistry and is was on fire. But, Jacey and Dominic were also very sweet together. They helped each other move on from their past and it was always clear how much they cared about each other, even when they were still denying and ignoring it. My one issue with the book is that their stubbornness became a bit frustrating. I wanted to shake some sense into them several times. But, it wasn't a huge problem. I still thought they were a lovely couple.

The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. There were definitely some shocking secrets, not the least of which was what really happened all those years ago. They certainly took me by surprise. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Before We Fall was a wonderful New Adult read. The romance was hot, the secrets were shocking, and the story was lovely. Fans of the series, you will not be disappointed. Romance lovers, this is a book you don't want to miss.
