My Rating: 4 Roses

A sweet historical romance that took my by surprise. The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh was a lovely read. There was sweet romance, thrilling mystery, and some secrets that blew me away. I really enjoyed reading this wonderful romance.

Anna was a great heroine. I really liked how she was not going to let Sebastian take her for granted. He'd always assumed that she'd wait for him to be ready to marry, but he had another thing coming when he actually had to woo her. But, she wasn't annoyingly stubborn, either. She just knew to make him grovel a little. She was strong, determined, and a force to be reckoned with. I really liked her.

Sebastian was a sweetheart. I adored him. I appreciated that he didn't wallow in denial about his feelings for Anna. As soon as he realized them, he was determined to win her over. He was very sweet, strong, and intent on getting what (or who) he wanted. I thought he was wonderful.

The romance was a blend of sweet and spicy. It was really sweet seeing these two fall for each other. They had always assumed they would be together, but now they actually got to know each other romantically. It was adorable. And, there was some hot chemistry between them. They could not keep their hands off each other. I thought they were a lovely couple.

I really liked the secondary romance in this book between two other characters. It was really sweet and adorable. And the secret behind Harry, Anna's brother, was a huge surprise. The truth about what happened to him was shocking. It totally blew me away and added an unpredictability to the story.

The plot was the weak point. It started off fast, but then it started dragging a bit. Then it would pick up, and then drag again for a bit. The slow parts kept me from being completely hooked, though not enough that I got bored. I was still kept interested throughout the entire story, but I was tempted to skim during the slow parts. For the most part, though, I really enjoyed the story. The secrets and surprises kept me drawn to the story. And the ending was wonderful.

The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh was a lovely historical romance. I really enjoyed this fantastic read. Lovers of romance, this is a book you'll want to check out.

Polite society has its rules for marriage. But for Ella Quinn’s eligible bachelors, their brides will show them that rules are for the weak of heart…

Phoebe Stanhope is not a typical Lady. As feisty as she is quick witted, no one can catch her, especially when she is driving her dashing phaeton with its perfectly matched horses. And unlike her peers, experience has guarded her against a growing list of would-be suitors. But when she encounters Marcus Finley, what she fears most burns deep within his blue-eyed gaze…

For Lord Marcus, the spark of recognition is but a moment in the love he has held these many years. Now that he’s returned to England, all the happiness he desires rests on Lady Phoebe never finding out that he was the one who turned her heart so cold and distant. He must work fast to gain the advantage—to convince her what she wants is exactly what she denies—but in order to seduce her into his arms, he must be willing to give up more than he can control…
