Click on the banner for the full schedule.
Welcome to my post for the Summer is for Lovers book tour! I have a review coming up, as well as a giveaway for a couple of e-books. But, before we get to all that, allow me to introduce the book:

Summer Is for Lovers
Release date: September 24, 2013
Publisher: Avon
Genre: Historical (Regency) Romance
Series: N/A

David Cameron has been tricked. After bringing his supposedly ailing mother to Brighton to take the waters, he’s found himself bombarded with young ladies of marriageable age, while his mother has made a marked improvement. Seeking respite from the hordes, he retreats to a beach he hasn’t seen in years--and finds a woman he’s never quite been able to forget.

Caroline Tolbertson just wants to be left alone. But her mother is determined to see her married off, no matter Caroline’s protests--or her embarassing lack of suitors. Seeing David Cameron, her childhood crush, again sets her heart racing, but she’s older and wiser now. And no, that wasn’t her heart sinking when David suggested a faux courtship instead of the real thing.

But Caroline has never been very good at following the rules, and the fake attraction soon grows into the real thing. Now Caroline has more scandalous pursuits in mind and David is finding it very hard to say no to his gorgeous friend. Will giving in to temptation send them both down a path they each claim to abhor--straight to the altar?

My Rating: 4 Roses

A light, sweet historical romance, Summer is for Lovers was a lovely book. It was sweet, romantic, and a truly enjoyable read.

Caroline was a lovely heroine. She was strong feisty, and not about to let anyone rule her life. But, she's also very self conscious. She's very poor and most men would rather make fun of her than court her. She proved them all wrong, though. Not only did she manage to become the reigning beauty of the social scene, but she proved how capable she was. Especially with the swimming competition that she joined. She was a wonderful character and I really liked her.

David was a sweetheart with an ugly past. And, unfortunately, he lets that past control his actions. A few times, I wanted to shake some sense into him, so that he could see what was right in front of him the whole time. But, he was still a great hero. He was very sweet, loyal, and protective of Caroline. He was adorable.I thought he was a wonderful hero.

The romance was mostly sweet, but definitely with some spice. Caroline and David were very sweet together. Their feelings for each other were obvious, except to themselves. And, the chemistry between them was hot.

The plot was okay. There were some points that were slow and I started to skim a little before the pace picked back up. But, it wasn't a huge problem. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely.

Summer is for Lovers was a light, sweet, lovely historical romance. I really enjoyed reading this fantastic book. Lovers of romance, if you want a great book to read, then you should check this one out.
