Off Chance (Off, #5)
Release date: October 21, 2013
Publisher: Big Dog Books
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Series: Off #5

He is seeking absolution.

Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex and it’s one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because, if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.

She is seeking escape.

Rowan Page’s life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She’s determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.

Together, they have the chance to become complete.

Flynn and Rowan’s worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.

For it to work, both of them will need to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

My Rating: 4.5 Roses

Sweet, steamy, emotional, and a perfect ending to a brilliant series! Off Chance was a fantastic New Adult romance and a lovely conclusion to the Off series.

Rowan was a heroine who has been through a lot. Her parents ignored her for most of her life and that made her act out and get into some bad situations. When she finally had enough, she left and made it on her own in New York. Only to get caught up with a criminal. And almost die in a house fire. Like I said, a tough time. But, she was really strong and she survived it all. I really liked her. She was a survivor, the kind of person who never gives up. The only issue I had with her was that she took so long to accept a full relationship with Flynn. She kept pushing him away and almost messed it all up out of stubbornness. Otherwise, I thought she was great.

Flynn. Was. So. Sweet. I can't even express how absolutely sweet and adorable and wonderful this guy is. If it's not completely obvious, I totally adored him. He was such a sweetheart. Because of how his first love died, he has a hero complex, determined to save everyone. He can't see a damsel in distress without being compelled to do everything he can to help her. And it was adorable how devoted he was to Rowan. He knew that she needed time, and he was willing to stand by her and wait. I thought he was absolutely perfect and I adored him.

The romance was both sweet and steamy. Because of Rowan's reluctance, their relationship grew as a friendship at first and that gave them a deep emotional bond. Their feelings for each other were palpable. They were a perfect match. And, even when they were in the hands off stage of their relationship, the chemistry was super hot. The sparks were constantly flying between these two and, when they finally got together, it was on fire. I thought they were a lovely couple.

The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. The first half of the book focused on the issue of Rowan's ex and the danger he posed, while the second half was focused on the development of Rowan and Flynn's relationship. I was completely hooked in both cases. It was tons of fun seeing all the characters from the previous books. Especially seeing how things turned out for them all in the epilogue. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was perfect.

Off Chance was a brilliant New Adult romance. I loved this book! It was a perfect ending to a wonderful series. Fans of the Off series, you won't be disappointed with this ending. Even though I'm still hoping we get more. And, if you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for? Go out and get those books now, because you're missing out on some fantastic books.
