Welcome to my post for the It Was You book tour! I have a review of this wonderful book coming up, as well as an excerpt and a giveaway for a $20 Amazon gift card a a copy of all of Anna Cruise's books. But, first, allow me to introduce the book:

It Was You (It Was You, #1)
Publication Date: February 28, 2013
Publisher: Mission Bay Publishing

Abby Sellers knows what she wants.

Enduring eighteen years in the shadow of her identical twin sister, Annika, she wants a fresh start. A chance to create her own life, separate from her conniving, deceptive twin.
Surprising both her family and friends, Abby ditches her plans for college and enrolls at a new school instead. There, she encounters West Montgomery, a sexy fellow student who immediately disarms her with his good looks and charm. West takes a liking to Abby and she suddenly finds herself walking a thin line, fabricating a fictional life created not by lies but by omission. She soon discovers West has secrets of his own, secrets that he's not altogether interested in sharing.

Out from under the shadow of her twin, Abby's life—and her relationship with West—blossoms. When Abby leaves town one weekend, something unthinkable happens and her relationship with West is shattered. Reeling from the discovery, Abby fears all of her plans have backfired and she's created a mess for both of them, a mess that no one can clean up.

But West isn't willing to let her go that easily. When he forces her to confront secrets they've both been hiding, Abby must decide more than if she's willing to forgive and forget. She must also decide just what kind of life she wants...and who she wants to live it with.

My Rating: 4 Roses

This book takes the phrase "evil twin" and takes it to a new, very literal, level. A lovely romance about a girl trying to get out from under her twin's shadow, It Was You was a wonderful book. The romance was hot, the twists were shocking, and I ended up really enjoying this book.

Abby has dealt with her twin, Annika, basically ruining her life for 18 years and she's had it. In a snap decision, she decides to switch to another college to get away from Annika. She meets a guy, frees herself from her twin's influence, tweaks the truth a little, and things look up for her. I really liked Abby. I thought she was a heroine that was easy to relate to. She's finally taking a stand against her sister and, this time, she won't back down. The only complaint I had with her is when something happens that I can't reveal and she gets mad at West for it. I thought that wasn't fair of her, considering the fact that it probably wouldn't have happened if she had told him the truth in the first place. And then she ran away instead of talking to him about it. I understand why it upset her so much given her history, but she wasn't fair to West. He wasn't to blame for the situation. That was my only issue with this book but it annoyed me enough to knock off a point. Otherwise, I really liked Abby's character. I thought she was a great and likable heroine.

West was wonderful. It took just a few pages before I fell for him. He was so sweet and confident without being cocky and incredibly attractive and basically perfect. His past isn't the purest and the revelation of it all was a definitely surprise. But, despite anything that happened to him before, he turned out to be a great guy. I adored him and I thought he was wonderful.

The romance was both sweet and spicy. Abby and West were really cute together and it was obvious that these two was starstruck when it came to each other. And there were definitely sparks flying between these two. They were a lovely couple and I can't wait to see more of them in It Was Me.

Annika was another major character, so I'm going to mention her real quick. There's no going around this. She was a complete and utter bitch. Evil twin to the max. While she gave her reasons for the way she acted near the end, it definitely didn't excuse her atrocious behavior. But, I did (very reluctantly) feel some pity for her, so I have to commend the author for making me see her as a person and not just a cardboard cut out of an antagonist. But, I still very heartily disliked her.

The plot was well paced. This book reads quickly and I was hooked the entire way through. There were surprises, and one hell of a twist that made me want to punch Annika (so glad that someone did). And the ending was a sweet wrap up that left things open for book 2.

It Was You was a wonderful New Adult romance. I really enjoyed this book and I know that other NA fans will. To anyone who wants a fantastic NA read, you have to read this book.

It Was Me (It Was You, #2)
All West Montgomery wanted was a vacation. A week-long stay in Tucson with Abby and her parents, a chance to get away for the week, the opportunity to get to know her family a little better and maybe carve out a little alone time with his girlfriend.

What he doesn't count on is finding a way to resume his baseball career.

Encouraged by Abby and her father to attend a MLB open tryout, West discovers that he can still play ball—well—and he suddenly becomes the hottest commodity on the field. Overwhelmed with offers and possibilities, West knows that whatever choice he makes will affect more than his baseball career. It will affect his future with Abby.

Professional baseball was always his dream, but Abby was a new dream come true. He doesn't want to choose between them, but in order to fulfill one of those dreams, West will have to.

Because he knows it's all on him.

He sat up a little. His hands were in his lap but his leg was still touching me, pressed firmly against mine. “Remember the other night when we were in my room?”

I nodded.

“And I said I wanted to show you something.” He smiled. “I knew what you were thinking. Just some con to get you in my room. Get you alone. Remember? I said as much.”

I nodded again. I remembered. Crystal clear.

“But I didn't attack you, did I? I could have—and I know I could've worn you down. Trust me. But I didn't. I went into my closet and I pulled out that damn box and I shared part of me with you.”

“I know,” I said, my voice barely a whisper.

“It's easy to hook up with someone.” He reached for my hand, covering it with both of his. “Get off and go. Believe me, I've had that.”

I felt my insides somersault a little. I'd already figured as much but it sucked hearing it from him.

“I don't want that with you,” he said. “And I know I'm a tough person to get to know. I don't make it easy. But I'm trying with you. Because I like you.” His hands squeezed mine gently. “I really like you, Abby Sellers.”

There was something in the way he said it that eliminated any doubt I had about him. And as nice as it was to hear him respect my feelings, there was a tiny part of me that was disappointed that he wasn't going to rip my clothes off, throw me down on the floor and have his way with me. But I knew how rare it was to find a guy who actually meant what he said and then backed it up with actions. West was different.

West was special.
