Connected Book Tour: Review + Interview + Giveaway!

Welcome to my post for the Connected book tour, organized by Lite-Rate-Ture Blog Tours! This book was so awesome and I'm so excited to host for it. I have a review coming up, as well as an author interview and a giveaway for an e-copy of Connected. But, first, allow me to introduce the book:

Connected (Connections #1)
What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.

When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.

Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift--but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

My Rating: 4 Roses

This book started off a little slow. It took me a while to get into it. But, then, things started to pick up. It got better and better, until, by the end, I was hooked. Connected was an absolutely lovely New Adult romance. Full of heartache, romance, and secrets, this book took me completely by surprise.

Dahlia was a heroine that was going through a lot. Her boyfriend of many years is gone and her grief has been eating her up. Enter River. Years ago, when she was still with Ben (old boyfriend), she met him and felt an instant connection. But, of course, it wasn't going to happen at that time. By a twist of fate, they meet again. Cue the romance and a hailstorm of emotions. I thought Dahlia was very likable. She was easy to relate to. Despite everything she's been through, she's a strong woman who manages to continue on, even when things don't look well. She was a great character.

River was amazing. Oh, I just adored him! He was so sweet and hot and basically perfect. I loved how, even though he's a famous rock star, he's humble and down to earth about it. He was a total sweetheart, devoted to Dahlia and determined to help her heal from the past. He was brilliant, just wonderful.

The romance was hot off the charts. Wow, was there some serious chemistry between them. And they weren't shy about it. There were definitely some fan your face moments. And there were also swoon-worthy moments. Dahlia and River were very sweet together. Because of their first meeting years before, that neither of them forgot, there was a lot of built up longing. They fell hard for each other and that was easy to tell. I thought they were a perfect couple.

The plot, as I said before, was slow at first. For about the first quarter, I didn't get completely into the book. But, after that, things sped up and I was hooked. There were surprises in store and one hell of a shocker at the end of the book. That massive surprise was hinted at throughout the book, but I couldn't figure out what the secret was. Then, in the epilogue, it was finally revealed and BAM! I was totally blown away. I am so anxious to get my hands on the sequel, Torn, after that ending. I have to know what happens next!

Connected was a brilliant NA read. Secrets, steamy romance, and a surprise ending that has you begging for the next book. Everything about it was wonderful. Readers, if you want a great NA romance, then you definitely have to give this book a try.

Author Interview:

About the Author:
I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I’ve always had a love for reading books and writing. In college I majored in English and wanted to teach at the college level, but that was not to be. I went on to get my MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and recently decided to embrace one of my biggest passions - writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer mom, taxi driver, and just the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outing when my kids were little was to take them to the bookstore or the library. Today my oldest child is seventeen and no longer comes with me on these now rare and infrequent outings, but honestly I don’t need to go on them anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented, a kindle.

I believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I have many favorite things ranging from books – to movies – to words. I love to drink champagne and listen to music. I hope to always stay young at heart.

Connected is my debut novel and is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble , iTunes and Kobo.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Welcome to Imagine a World! I'm glad you could be here.

What is the hardest part about writing for you? The easiest?
For me, the hardest part about writing is making sure you have enough plot points to make it interesting. The easiest part is coming up with the plot.

If your book was made into a movie, who would you want to play your characters?
River = Chace Crawford, Dahlia = Blake Lively, Ben = Alex Pettyfer

What do you do when you get writer’s block?
If I get writers block I watch music videos and listen to country music. They both tell stories.

Are there any authors in particular (living or dead) who inspire you?
Many others inspire me. I love Tom Clancy and Nora Roberts.

Do you have any upcoming books you’re working on? Can you tell us a little about it?
I just finished Torn and have started writing Frayed. Torn picks up right where Connected leaves off and is due to be released October 1st.

If you could go back in time (to any time at all), what time period would you go to and why?
The 20's seems like a interesting time.

Summer or winter?
Summer.

Cat or dog?
Dog.

Tea or coffee?
Coffee.

Book or movie?
Book always!

Bad boy or boy next door?
Bad boy of course!

Thanks for coming!
