The Marquess Who Loved Me (Muses of Mayfair, #3)

A not-so-merry widow…

The widowed Marchioness of Folkestone is notorious for her parties, her art collection, and her utter disregard for the rules. But Ellie Claiborne knows her destruction is near. The new marquess is her first lover – the man whose sculpted body and sardonic grin haunt her every time she picks up her paintbrush. If he ever returns to claim his inheritance, her heart won’t survive seeing him again.

A man determined to destroy her...

Nicholas Claiborne hasn’t stepped foot in England since watching Ellie marry his cousin. He has no use for the gorgeous, heartless girl who betrayed him, or the title she abandoned him for. But when his business in India turns deadly, Nick must return to London to uncover a murderer – and take revenge on the woman he couldn’t force himself to forget.

A love they can’t escape…

Nick hates Ellie’s transformation from sweet debutante to jaded seductress. Ellie despises him for leaving her behind. Still, the sparks between them reignite the passion that should have been their destiny. As their demands of each other turn darker and a potential killer closes in, they must decide whether to guard the fragile remnants of their hearts — or find a way to fall in love all over again.

Feature and Follow-a great way to *meet* new blogging buddies and gain new followers! F&F hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

Q: Tell us about the most emotional scene you've ever read in a book - and how did you react?

The most emotional scene I've ever read was one of the final scenes in With All My Soul, the last book in the Soul Screamers series, which I just read yesterday. It was the final book in one of my all time favorite series, so I already knew it would be emotional. But then, the scene of the reunion of Tod and Kaylee (you know what I'm talking about if you've read the book) just tore my heart to shreds. It hit my emotions so hard. I literally cried for a good 5 minutes after reading that scene because it was so emotional for me. But in the best way possible. Just thinking about it now still makes me tear up.

So, what about you?

If you click on the link below, you'll be able to follow me there.

A Woman Entangled by Cecilia Grant + 2 Featured Freebies

A Woman Entangled (Blackshear Family, #3)An ambitious beauty seeking a spot among the elite is thwarted by a most disruptive gentleman in Cecilia Grant’s witty, elegant, and exquisitely sensual novel.

Kate Westbrook has dreams far bigger than romance. Love won’t get her into London’s most consequential parties, nor prevent her sisters from being snubbed and looked down upon—all because their besotted father unadvisedly married an actress. But a noble husband for Kate would deliver a future most suited to the granddaughter of an earl. Armed with ingenuity, breathtaking beauty, and the help of an idle aunt with connections, Kate is poised to make her dreams come true. Unfortunately, a familiar face—albeit a maddeningly handsome one—appears bent on upsetting her scheme.

Implored by Kate’s worried father to fend off the rogues eager to exploit his daughter’s charms, Nick Blackshear has set aside the torch he’s carried for Kate in order to do right by his friend. Anyway, she made quite clear that his feelings were not returned—though policing her won’t abate Nick’s desire. Reckless passion leads to love’s awakening, but time is running out. Kate must see for herself that the charms of high society are nothing compared to the infinite sweet pleasures demanded by the heart.

My Rating: 2.5/5

A Woman Entangled could have been absolutely fantastic. To be quite honest, I loved almost every element of the book, except for one very important aspect: the heroine.

Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

My guilty pleasure is romance books, which the entire premise of my blog may have given away. I love the emotions within romance books. I love the relationships and the love and basically everything that makes a romance book a romance book. Even though it makes me bemoan the fact that I'm single, I just can't help it-romance books are definitely my guilty pleasure.

Q: Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.
I don't often read outdoors, but, when I do, I like to read at this park about 5 minutes away from my house. It's a small park and, regardless of the Florida heat, it's always cool. There are some gorgeous trees that keep it shaded-the kind that overhang with moss and put to mind serene poems. And there are always squirrels running around that seem entirely unafraid of humans. It's very peaceful, so I like reading there.

So, what about you?

Q: What is a book you didn't like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn't popular?
There are a couple of books that I my friends were really into that I didn't like. But, I do have one in particular. My friend read the Hunger Games series and loved it, so she urged me to read it. I read it. And, it wasn't my cup of tea :(
As for a book that I liked that wasn't popular among my friends: I read Darker Still and adored it, so I convinced another of my friends to read it. And she hated it. I was almost personally offended. I still bring that up whenever we talk ;)

So, what about you?

Still, he has come to Mary’s aid, and now she intends to return the favor. She will show him that he is not evil, just troubled.

Mary was a damsel in need of a hero, but Alasdair’s plan is shortsighted. He never foresaw her desire to save him from himself. Alasdair is quite at home in his private torment, until this angel proves that a heart still beats in his broken soul. Love Is in the Heir by Kathryn Caskie + Featured Freebie

Love Is in the HeirFiddlesticks! I am sure the ladies Letitia and Viola Featherton are wrong when it comes to matchmaking. They insist that it has all to do with love. I, Miss Hannah Chillton, believe one has only to bring a couple together and let nature take its true course. To prove my point, I secretly plan to match the ladies themselves. Lud, what a challenge! They are practically in their dotage.
And love certainly does not signify in the match the Featherton sisters are making for me. True, when Lord St. Albans and I first met, he fair took my breath away. But after we accidentally ran him down with our carriage, I became convinced he belongs to that most despicable class of men: rakes. His arrogance is insufferable...except when he appears so shy and considerate that I almost think St. Albans is two different men. But that cannot be possible. Or can it?

My Rating: 4/5

Stared out slow but turned out wonderful! Love is in the Heir is a lovely, sweet romance that is sure to be a hit...

Q: Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

When  I first started blogging, my formatting of posts was terrible. As I gained experience, I slowly fixed it. But, now, when I look back at my earliest posts, I cringe for how bad the posts look. I'm very glad I was able to fix that :)

So, what about you?
