Welcome to my stop for the Seeds of Discovery and Roots of Insight Tour! I have a lovely giveaway and a review of Roots of Insight for you, but, first, let me introduce the books:
The mystery only deepens as she figures out who the boy is; William Rose, a reclusive, awkward boy from school who always has his nose in a pile of books.
As she becomes more aware of his behavior it becomes more obvious how out of the ordinary William is and how hard he deliberately tries to blend into the background. This only intrigues her more and she finds herself working to find out more about him, and exactly where he keeps disappearing to.
On a whim one night she follows him and suddenly finds herself in a new world. One where William is a prince, literally, and she is treated like a princess. She also discovers that she is stuck; the gate back to her own world isn't always open.
Quinn finds herself smack in the middle of a modern-day fairy tale, on a course that will change her life forever.
Quinn Robbins has just returned from spending ten days in Eirentheos, a world she had never known existed. Trying to settle back into her familiar life and establish a relationship with her new boyfriend, Zander, is more of a challenge than she ever dreamed it would be.
Things are just beginning to feel normal again when Thomas shows up in her world, and invites her back to Eirentheos for a royal wedding. She's excited at the chance to reconnect with the people and places she had begun to fall in love with.
What she doesn't realize is just how deeply connected with this new world she might become ... and just what old secrets might be beginning to unravel.
The second book in the beloved Dusk Gate series reconnects Quinn with the charming princes, and the pristine world of Eirentheos. From a beautiful royal wedding to a dangerous rescue mission, Quinn's adventures are about to take her life on a course that will change it forever.
And, now for my thoughts on book 2-Roots of Insight:
My Rating: 4/5
If you liked Seeds of Discovery, you will love Roots of Insight. This book was a lovely read, a perfect sequel to the series.
All the characters showed a lot of growth in this book.
Quinn grew so much. She grew more mature in the face of conflict and really proved herself. She has realized the dangers of straddling the line between two world and is starting to become pulled in two directions. She's a very strong heroine, but sometimes she would get stubborn about the wrong things and that was a bit frustrating, but, otherwise, Quinn was a lovely heroine.
We get to know William more in this book. He opens up to Quinn and we get to see more into his character. For those who have been suspecting hints of romance with Quinn and William...I won't say a word ;)
But, anyway, William revealed himself to be a strong character and a hero that will win your heart.
Thomas was, as always, a charmer. That handsome prince is so charming and endearing-I adore him. He shows a more serious side of himself during this book. And we get to see that he is not only a charming flirt, but a strong prince.
The plot of the book stalled in places, but, for the most part, it was fast paced and kept me interested. The ending was a greater cliffhanger than in book one and now I would dearly love to find out what happens next.
Roots of Insight was a worthy sequel-YA lovers, you should definitely check out this series.
