Let Me Be The One (The Sullivans #6) by Bella Andre + Featured Freebie

Let Me Be The One (The Sullivans, #6)
When Vicki Bennett saved Ryan Sullivan’s life as a teenager, it was the beginning of a close friendship that never wavered despite her failed marriage to someone else and Ryan’s well-earned reputation as a ladies man. So when she suddenly needs a pretend boyfriend to protect herself and her career from a powerful man’s advances, he is the only person she can imagine asking.

Ryan will do anything to protect Vicki from harm, but when their “fake” kisses and caresses lead to an incredibly sensual night that neither of them can resist, will he have made the biggest mistake of all by irreparably jeopardizing their friendship? Or is it possible that what they’ve both been looking for has been right there the whole time…and the perfect combination of wicked and sweet, friendship and love, is finally within reach?

My Rating: 5/5

Let Me Be The One is a sweet and lovely book, my favorite of the Sullivans series. If you liked any of the other books, you'll love this one.

I've made no secret of the fact that best-friends-to-lovers stories are my favorite kinds of romance. I just think all emotion involved in that kind of relationship adds so much more to a romance book. And this book definitely did not disappoint.

Vicki had loved Ryan long before the near-accident. And their friendship after she saved him never doused her feelings. Though she had a disastrous marriage and hasn't seen Ryan in a few years, she still loves him. I really liked Vicki. She was a surprisingly realistic character. The way she acted made her seem very real. She was strong enough to hold her own against all the trials she faces throughout the book-and her life in general. Vicki was a lovely heroine, whom I think anyone would like.

Ryan was such a sweetie. He has loved Vicki almost as long as she loved him-ever since she saved his life. But, not wanting to push their friendship, he, like Vicki, didn't say anything. I really adored Ryan. I think he's my favorite of all the Sullivan men. He's such a sweetheart. When you see how he acts toward Vicki, you'll see what I mean. Your heart will just melt.

Speaking of those two, they were such an adorable couple. Since they already has a longstanding relationship, the transition-though a bit awkward-was cute to see. And, of course, they had a bit of "fun" along the way. Actually, quite a lot of "fun." I really like them together and was glad to see them finally get their happy ending.

The plot of this book was at a steady pace, but there weren't any drags. The ending, as I referred to earlier, was very sweet. And, of course, we have a segue into the next book-Smith's story.

I loved Let Me Be The One. Romance lovers, you will adore this.

Today, I have a historical romance that sounds interesting: Rules for a Lady by Jade Lee. Go forth and get it for free!
Rules for a Lady (A Lady's Lessons, Book 1)

If a lady is to become a Countess, there are rules...

#1: A lady does not attempt to come out in London society disguised as her deceased half-sister.

#2: A lady does not become enamored of her guardian; even when his masterful kisses and whispered words of affection tempt her beyond all endurance.

#3: A lady may not climb barefoot from her bedroom onto a rose trellis, nor engage in fisticuffs with riffraff even if it is to rescue street urchins.

#4: No matter how impossible the odds, a lady always gives her hand and her heart—though not necessarily in that order—to the one man who sees her as she truly is and loves her despite her flagrant disobedience of the rules for a lady.
